Light Strike Laser Tag - The next generation of laser tag!
Traditional laser tag game systems have a wall mounted target, the target on the players body and gun, but that was about all. The Light strike laser system goes to a whole new level. Rather than just chase the other players around the play area shooting at them, Light strike adds a whole array of new target types and gun types. Most people who play laser tag do so in a “military” fashion. This can only go so far with the older systems. Light strike guns and accessories can make a true military war-game out of your laser tag experience.
One of the biggest changes is the addition of a life meter. Rather than being shot one time and removed from the game, the Light strike system plays more like a video game where each hit detracts from a life meter until it reaches zero. This gives an inexperienced player a little more time to get their bearing about them and have some fun. There are also shields added to the system that make each hit take less damage from the light meter. The shield can only be used just so much and then it is gone.
These added features give the game a more strategic feel and add a level of thinking to the game that was not there before. To give a deeper level of game play Light strike has added a whole set of targets. Some targets can be taken out with just one shot, while other targets take more than one shot to be eliminated. Then, the best target out there in my opinion is the ITS or Intelligent targeting System. This is one of the best game accessories I have ever seen. It can be set to various functions, and I love them all. My favorite is ‘Sentry Mode”, this makes the ITS like a land mind that scans an area for enemies and blasts them if they come into range. The ITS can also operate as a “medic” giving health to your teammates when they come near it, or a “bomb”.
Old laser tag got boring pretty quick because it was repetitive and limited. Depending on where you played, there was only just so much you could do. With the Light strike system, your house, the backyard, a parking lot, almost anywhere can become a full-fledged battle arena. There are not just the standard guns; there are “assault strikers” which take the attack portion to the next level. With these added weapons, the attack becomes a military assault. We used to have issues when there were not enough players to set up full teams, not now. With a few targets setup and some ITS spread around, you can even play with just two people.
Plus, the games themselves are built into the equipment. There is no need to keep track of scoring or anything of the numbers. There are a variety of games and game types. It is even possible to play by yourself. The software is already in the guns, the tracking is in the guns, everything is right there in the guns. With features like rapid like rapid fire and refractor, the weapons take on a life all their own.
If you have ever wanted to take part in those war-games you have seen in the movies, this is the equipment for you. We are in the process of setting up a 200 player game. That’s a total of two 200 player teams facing off in a four acre area. Because the Light strike system can be used indoors and outdoors, we have integrated a small building on the property as a “base”. It doesn’t matter what the scenario, Light strike weapons and accessories make it possible. Plus, all the equipment works together. Rather than having to buy one huge system to work with that many people, each person has already gotten their equipment and it will all work together when we start playing.
As if all that wasn’t enough, Light strike has a vast array of attachments for your weapons. Anything from scopes, the laser sights and refractors are available. The refractor makes your normal one kill weapons a multiple enemy gun. One blast in the right direction with the refractor and you can take out twenty people with that one shot. The rapid fire attachment turns your Light strike weapon into an automatic weapon. Step out from behind the tree and lay into the masses. Cover ten people with shots in less than a few seconds.
So, what Light strike has done is take a normal game with some targets and guns and turned it into a military war-game, with bombs, land mines, medics, automatic weapons, various goals and objectives. What used to get boring after an hour has you wishing the day were longer. With anywhere from a couple people to a full out two hundred person assault force, you can have the best and safest fun there is to be had.
